Maintenance/Yard Technician

Splintered Forest is looking for a Maintenance/Yard technician for our growing tree services company. Prior maintenance experience is a plus as well as a strong attention to detail, self-motivation (often times working solo), ability to work outside, organized and ability to use basic apps to document all yard essential duties.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Completing weekly checks of all equipment/trucks for preventative maintenance items needed. Noting items to be corrected to ensure proper operation of all equipment.

- Procuring parts/tools for our operations/working closely with contracted mechanics to assure proper inventory.

- Ensuring all routine maintenance items are up to date on trucks/equipment i.e. greasing, filling equipment with fluids, cleaning air filters, emptying fuel water separators, cleaning radiators, washing of equipment, replacing chipper knives, oil changes, etc.

- Organizing shop spaces and keeping a tidy work area both inside and outside.

- Cleaning of work vehicles both on the inside and outside.

- Basic chainsaw maintenance.

- Additional duties can be expanded based on level of experience.

This position offers flexible scheduling, but does requires some evening and weekend availability.

Pay and number of weekly hours is DOE. Benefits including health/dental/vision, a SIMPLE IRA with Company match and PTO available to eligible employees.

Arborist/Groundsman/Climber

Splintered Forest is a family owned tree services company in Morrison, Colorado. Our crew gets the opportunity to work on some pretty awesome (and if we are being honest some mundane) job sites in the Foothills and throughout the Denver Metro Area. We use cranes, drive mini skids and are constantly looking for innovative ways to complete tree removals, fire mitigation and trimming jobs.

And we are looking for some individuals that want to be a part of the team! Whether you are an Arborist looking for full-time employment, a subcontractor looking to add to your current workload or a wanderlust traveling the country interested in temporary employment for the season, we want to talk to you!

We will say though remote work isn’t available, sorry, so you must have reliable transportation to start your day at our yard in Morrison and must be able to pass a drug test/background check. If you’re applying as a subcontractor you must have a valid insurance policy (with Splintered Forest listed as additionally insured).

Plant Health Care Certified Operator

Splintered Forest is a family owned tree services company in Morrison, Colorado with a rapidly expanding Plant Health Care division looking to add a Swiss Army Knife to the crew - a Certified Operator (CO) that is experienced with Plant Health Care who might also assist on a fire mitigation site or a large tree removal as well.

Our crews get the opportunity to work on some pretty awesome job sites in the Foothills and throughout the Denver Metro Area. We use cranes, drive mini skids and are constantly looking for innovative ways to complete tree removals, fire mitigation, trimming and PHC jobs.

This position will work directly with the Splintered Forest Qualified Supervisor and together handle all of the necessary tasks to run a successful division - chemical applications, communication with clients, necessary reporting, inventory management and more.

Applicants must:
Have a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR (CDL a bonus, but not required)
Have a valid Department of Agriculture Certified Operator (CO) and/or Qualified Supervisor (QS) license
1-2 years of experience with PHC (preferred) and experience working in the Colorado mountains/foothills
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
